Born in Hartford Connecticut, James has always been a creative person discovering at an early age that he had a gift for drawing and painting. Receiving high honors in high school in Art, he continued his education pursuing a degree in horticulture and landscape design from Louisiana State University. Art became secondary, however in 1986 James moved to Rochester, New York. While there he began to paint more prolifically and began to achieve more attention in the community. Putting horticultural aside, James began to explore a more artistic lifestyle; working as a visual designer and refurbishing houses. It was the house restoration that brought him to Key West.

He spent his winters in the Keys, escaping the harsh New York state weather. Exploring the islands James discovered an incredible balance between architecture and the lush foliage of the tropics. That inspired him to preserve the images he encountered on canvas. James now lives full time in South Florida (Fort Lauderdale). He has shown his work at many of the local and statewide art shows, winning several awards of excellence. His relaxing moods and bold colors make him a favorite in many of the shows. Moving on to new styles, James is now painting in Abstract Expressionism as well as Impressionism. |

I want to explore new techniques and continue traveling on my life's road. Every person needs to do the same in their life no matter what their strengths are. You have one time on this planet and I feel everyone should strive to do the most they can for themselves and each other." |
