Giclée (jhee-clay) - French meaning 'to spray ink'. A digitally scanned image of an original piece of art that is printed at high resolution onto stretched canvas. The printed image can then be embelleshed by the artist, by hand, to reproduce some of the texture, depth and highlights that are reflected in the original. Giclée printing is the leading method of exceptional high quality fine art reproduction. In addition to canvas, Giclée prints are sometimes processed on watercolor paper, silks, cottons, rice paper or other media. With pigmented inks and dyes, the high quality visual resolution of these digitally reproduced prints is expected to last several hundred years, with little loss of sharpness, color or vibrancy as compared to the original. Many of James' original works of art are digitally archived so that embellished Giclée prints (also known as "Iris prints") can be created at your request and to your size specifications.
